The customer was very happy with this 2D piece made from mixed media. The image definitely doesn’t do it justice. The request given was “high contrast” and “interesting”. People love the texture as it really does feel like the bark of a tree and it was made with the ability for admirers to touch it in mind.

The initial request for ‘blue, purple, and green’ hues, inspired by a painting at a restaurant, led to a unique adaptation infused with originality. A 2D commission inspired by Antarctica and Google Earth. The plankton are playing, the sun is reflected in the snow and mountain physically come off the canvas. Arctic comes from the Greek word arktos, meaning bear, so this contributed to the decision to make “Bear Island” as a tribute. Colours were used to match our customers decor.
